Rafael Silesia

(Gütersloh)

Rafael Silesia is characterized by 2 cultures: Until the age of ten, i grew up in Silesia (Poland), in the period of late communism and catholicism. These times, that formed me deeply, came to an end, as the family resettled in Germany in the early 90's. After assimilating to this new society and culture, i have initially developed sportive and intellectual strengths. So young Rafa raised to one of the best junior table-tennis players in eastern westphalia. Among other success, i won the championship in the highest league and barely missed the german championships with the team.
2002 followed the graduation from high school and i am studying business economics at university bielefeld now.

There would be other aspekts of my life to introduce, but my primary interest is to present my work and passion for electronic music, which accompanied me in all these years. It became more and more important. The german culture presented new sounds, new events and i became early addicted to electronic ones. First trance, then progressive sounds haunted my mind. The aspiration grew to interpretate them in own sets and first steps in djing followed. At least at the end of 2004 i had the opportunity to go on it seriously with own equipment and records.

My public shows began with work on air. Having friends on radiostations, i have also found into this business and still love the work on air today. My first radio residency was on mth-club.
At present, i'm resident dj on one of the most modern radio stations online - internetradio.de. It offers new possibilities and perspektives, because it is based on video streaming. My weekly show - Multimodal - is modern and ambitious live video entertainment. Electronic music, hilarious moderation supported by videos and infos. Guest-djs and finally events at clubs, are part of multimodal work. Guests at Multimodal were acts like Harry Axt, Hanne & Lore, Juliet Sikora, LaBam, Aaren San, maxcherry live or exclusive recordings with: Marco Bailey, Tom Hades, Dada Life, Tube & Berger, Les Petits Pilous, Foamo, Lee Mortimer, The Toxic Avenger, Mr. Miyagi. Since October 2008 there is a free Multimodal Radioshow podcast available on itunes.com (itunes store).
